}025{ Nose Piercing

My apologies for not writing more! My laptop needs to go in for repairs, and I just haven’t been up to anything. I’ve been spending more time over with Dale’s parents any my parents, but nothing outside of that. We haven’t spent a lot of time at home and most of my online interactions are taking part from my phone or at work.I’ve decided that in order to get back into writing these, I’m going to go through my piercings as they happened – then continue as they happen. I’m hoping I can get enough of these set up so that I can get postings about what it was like to happen, and get follow up on healing. I will discuss jewellery as much as I can. For the most part, I don’t have very exciting jewellery or any real experience with different types of jewellery.Without further ado, lets get into it! I had my right nostril pierced by a local shop, Adept Tattoo & Body Piercing Studio, in late 2008/early 2009 by Amber Thorpe. It was pierced with a needle and receiving tube, and used a 16g Nostril Screw for healing. The piercing felt like a pinch then a mild burning sensation. It wasn’t very painful, but because of the area my eye watered slightly. H2Ocean saline spray was suggested and what I purchased to clean for my piercing.

As I recall, it was fairly sensitive to touch (in the sense of cleaning my face/piercing) and I had a knack for catching it on my towel after showering. This caused me to developed a keloid on my piercing in the beginning of January ’09. I was trying to get ready for my hotel party and was in a rush and popped into Adept and purchased a Captive Bead Ring (CBR) for my nose to try and give me easy access to cleaning my piercing and getting rid of the keloid. I had my dad (who hated that I got my nose pierced) help me get my CBR in place. He ended up buying tweezers and getting it in place, but it was fairly uncomfortable. I highly suggest that you have your jewellery changed by a professional who can use the proper tools.

I recall it being about a year before I was able to comfortably change jewellery. To this day, changing from nostril screws to rings is uncomfortable for a day or two, but once adjusted I often forget the piercing is there. Since May 31st, I have downsized my nostril piercing to 18g. I currently am wearing a titanium nose hoop anodized ice blue.

Please feel free to post any questions you may have! I’ll try to answer them as best as I can.
